Data Retention
Last updated October 24, 2026
Most of what Nod knows lives only on your phone, and you can erase it anytime. Here is how long we keep each kind of data.
On your phone
Your health answers, neck score, head-turn measurements, training plan, sessions, check-ins and other settings stay on your phone until you tap Delete all data in the You tab or delete the app. Your random app id stays in your iPhone’s Keychain even after you delete the app, so a reinstall keeps your subscription. Nod also keeps a log of its own app events on your phone; it drops entries older than 90 days. Camera images are never stored. The few dates and counts we send off the phone are covered below.
Reminder server
If you allow notifications, our server keeps one record for your copy of the app: your app id, push token, time zone, reminder settings and the session, check-in and trial dates it needs to time reminders. We keep it until you tap Delete all data, Apple reports that Nod is no longer installed, or you ask us to delete it. After Delete all data, Nod registers again only once you finish setting it up again and notifications are allowed; the new record holds only your app id, push token, time zone and reminder settings. The database is hosted by PlanetScale in the United States. The server’s request logs, which include IP addresses and app ids, and the job queue’s old reminder jobs are kept for a limited period and cleared on a rolling basis.
Analytics, ad measurement and crash reports
Usage events sent to Mixpanel, conversion events sent to Meta and Firebase, and crash reports sent to Sentry are kept under each provider’s retention settings, then deleted. Delete all data does not erase them. We can delete Mixpanel data on request, as below. They are tied only to random ids, not to your name or contact details.
Subscriptions
RevenueCat and Apple keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Deletion requests
Email jordangaston1994@gmail.com to ask us to delete data held off your phone. In Nod, go to You → Copy app ID and email it to us; we’ll delete the Mixpanel, RevenueCat and reminder-server data tied to it, except purchase records the law requires us to keep. Crash reports and Meta and Firebase events use those providers’ own anonymous ids, which we can’t match to you; the providers delete them on their own schedules. We respond within 30 days.
